IN OUR NEW HOME

Well we're finally here!  And we are really excited!  We got here Sunday the 6th at about 2:30am.  We woke up the next morning to the sound of 92 Motorcycles coming in for a breakfast and a Bike blessing.  It was the Blue knights from all around the Cleveland area.  Rich did the blessing as he was installed just last month as the regioinal chaplan of the Blue Knights.  For those of you who don't know the blue knights are a police officer motorcycle group.  So it was neat to have the chance to serve them and to know they are serving us.  Also the chance was taken to share Christ with everyone there during the blessing!

After the blessing a youth group came in and they helped us unload our trailor.  It was done in a matter of 30 minutes!  And all we had to do was organize it in the house!  What a blessing!  Today we recieved a free washer and dryer from someone!  God is just truely putting things into action here!

HEADED TO THE PROMISE LAND

That right it is official!  The Pfeister fam is heading to Cleveland, Ohio!  We are going to be ministering with Village grace missions center in the Slavic Village part of the city!  We are very excited!  God is good and is moving things along fast for us in this endeavor as well.  I will serve as the Director of Youth and Family ministries.  Katiera will do a lot with children and a after school homework help and tutoring program.

Man we are excited!  Pray for us as we get on the move here really soon.  The ministry has provided us a house to live in utilities free.  But I need to find a full time job at first as we will for a while be tent makers.  Also we have our house to sell here in Indiana still.  Pray that that goes smoothly as well!

Peace Out!

State Of The Union

One huge word for tonight starting at 9:00pm eastern standard time.  Powerful!  Why?  Our president, likely to be the last decent one for awhile, was right on!  The people he pointed out were amazing!  Mutumbo, hey not just the hospital.  This guy is a true lover of his people.  he still has a home over there.  And from the things I have read spends more time in the off season over there than here.  Judy Clark, I skipped the middle name because I can't spell it, you may think what is so great about the baby einstein lady.  Yeah she wanted to help her kid read.  No she is the glue that runs our economy.  The type of go getter people who come up with an idea and follow it through.  They see a need maybe in only one person but then when it succeeds they realize it can help change lives all over this world.  And as a person who could not read very well at all coming into my college years I am excited for her advancements!  Wesely Autrey,  hey its true people like that are all over this great nation!  God has blessed us with hometown heroes who are everyday people and are willing to die for another.  And Tommy the war hero.  Man that guy I guarantee is tough!  You remember "saving private ryan" and the guy who had not the courage to kill when he was needed but hid and coward as his friend was killed.  this guy was the opposite!  He made himself a human shield!  Anyone with a purple heart should get a military burial and should get a parade at home.  My Dad came home to crazy people spitting after vietnam.  I want him to know if I could have been alive then I would have stood right beside him!  He didn't want to be there but he did his duty!  This man deserved every moment of that applause!

To the meat of the speech.  The first woman speaker.  I don't care democrat or not she was faced with a situation where she could have sat on her hands and pretended her enemy George Bush was not even speaking.  She handled herself with grace and elegance.  She was deserving of the presidents remarks at the beginning.  Hey lets face it a lot of people hate her for being up there.

Why is President Bush so great?  He is one hundred percent hard guy.  Real man material!  Stumbles over a word and keeps ticking!

Our countries unemployment rate is on the up swing!  Man we never hear that until the numbers come out.  He was all for bipartisanship tonight and that is exciting because as a republican I will admit sometimes the bleeding heart Liberals have some good ideas.

Balance the Budget... I'm waiting to completely believe that!  He has the right idea but with this new house and senate I am just not so sure it can be done.  Hey it was killing Hillary though! Cutting out the earmarks will probably change this nation completley!  That would be great lets find out what laws are really laws and what is just superstitious bunk!  Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid.  We won't fix them until we clamp down and stop letting free loaders mooch off our taxes but George is definitely the one to get it done!

Public schools-  No Child Left Behind is a great idea.  But bipartisan has to become true completely in this case.  My wife saw this in Philly.  That Democrat ran school district twisted the idea of no child left behind to mean no child can flunk.  Out of 32 children in her 7th grade class something like 20 of them were classified as having a learning disability.  She told me most of them were smarter than her they just did not apply themselves.  Bunk they can't flunk they are learning diabled.  Hey I'm learning disabled but I got no special treatment, except a tutor.  I flunked a few times and that was good for me!  No child left behind is not a free ride its the idea that we actually try to help those who need and want the help.

I say Build the wall of China all over again down south but thats just me. Nuff said!

Foreign Oil.  Well I say we all start running and biking to work.  Live near where you work.  Want to cut out the poverty in this country.  Build on the great ideals of Firestone, Goodyear and FOrd.  Help your employees.  Don't get the best buck for your bang.  Treat them well and they will work hard for you.  Employer provided housing built by the employer to take the burdens off his people.  This helps to eliminate ghettos and provides a home a roof and an environment of social equality and respect.   But what do I know maybe ethanol is the way of the future.  I just miss the ideals of good people that my father and grandfather knew.  Help thy neighbor and when it comes around he'll help you.

Winning the War on Terror.  Not even a good idea.  We will never get rid of all of them!  But we can scare the crap out of them.  These people are straight out of Satan's minions.  Their not going away.  But we can decrease their numbers.  And nothing will do that better than the United States Of America showing them why our military is still the best in the world and we are The super power.  Any country with our size and power should look like rome to our opponents. ie. a US citizen should be able to walk down the shadiest street in Bagdad and they should be so afraid of the retribution of the US that they would not even dare to look at him crossly.

Finally:

"THE STATE OF THE UNION IS STRONG, THE CAUSE IS RIGHT." - George W. Bush Jr.

61- applause, 50- minutes

The Simple Life

Its funny isn't it, how we forget often times the foundations of our faith?  So funny how we forget those small little details that should govern our lives as Christians.

Things like the fruit of the Spirit.  You know that funny little Chris Rice song.  But how true is it?  Love, Joy, Peace, Patients, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfullness, and Self- Control.  If I stack my life up to that do I look like a real Christian?

Then I'm reading I John over the last couple of weeks.  Chapter 2, Don't love this world.  It offers only lust of the eyes, cravings of physical pleasure, and pride of life.  Holy cow!  Are those not the largest definers of our culture here in the United States?

These things, it goes on to say, are fading away along with everything men crave.  But those who do what pleases God they will last forever.  This is simple stuff.  We learn this stuff in second grade!  Earlier in the book he talks about how we can know we are in Him if we obey His commandments.  And how important it is to Love one another.  Both those things by the way carry this mandate.  You will know you are know Him and are living n the light if you do those things.

These are foundational!  But they are life altering.  We as a Christian culture have fallen into many of these lusts and we continue to fall.  While I was in college struggling with my own lust I counseled with serveral other men, men who lead our churches now, who were struggling with these issues.  No not just lust of the flesh, but lust of things and pride in our possessions and power.  My guess would be close to 90% of men exiting Seminary this year are struggling with lust of the flesh.  And close to 99% struggling with the rest of the pride and lust!

The good news!  WE are struggling and we can defeat it!   I can say from experience.  God has taken me and my family through fires!  We have come out of them ready!  I have overcome lust and lying and many other sins which controlled my life!  My wife is my first pure relationship!  I don't lie all the time anymore! I am much like an alcoholic where if I let up I will fall back in but I am winning day by day!

Friends who may be in the same boat!  I ask if you look at yourselves do you see fruit?  Do you see that you are in the light?  I was afraid of these verses because they, if taken seriously, are so elementary yet they tell me where I am.  I've got work to do and I bet we all do!

The kids are doing great!  Magdelan is walking a little now.  Yep at 9 months just like her Daddy!  And Noah is learning all kinds of stuff!  Praise God he is much smarter than me!  Must take after Katiera.  He is already recognizing words which is cool and he sees any Lowes store and automatically recognizes that!
